SATT Establishment

The institution was originally named at Saujana Academy of Travel and Tour (SATT), it was established in November 1997. As the institution embarked into the wholesomeness of tourism and hospitality industry, the name was changed in Saujana Academy of Hospitality & Tourism. The name changed but the acronym still remain the same as SATT to maintain its fundamental and also a path to expands to other field of studies.

The logo portrays SATT’s intent of being a global player in its effort to provide wholesome learning experience with a close tie with the Hospitality and Tourism industry. The letter “A” was shaped as a pinnacle to illustrate the desire of the institution in providing high standard of education and training as well as to develop a hospitality driven generation in the hop of extending the hospitality and responsibility to tourist visiting Sarawak. The colour maroon represents strength and unity of the institution and blue represent the education and training nature of the institution.

The institution is located strategically in the heart of Kuching City where student have easy access to public amenities, libraries, transportation, accommodation, financial institution, shopping complexes, tourism and hospitality industry, health centres and other services.

Its formation was in response to the dire need for trained workforce by the tourism and hotel industries to support the development of the country’s tourism industry especially in Sarawak. The institution’s philosophy is to provide a comprehensive and application based knowledge to its programs’ participant through leveraging on process based teaching and learning. It emphasises on “hand-on” training concept and life simulation to ensure that the students are competent to apply what they have learned and experienced when they enter the workforce.
